My Agribusiness Management class covered mission statements, along with other foundational statements like vision, values, corporate social responsibility, and diversity statements, for businesses earlier in the semester. About the same time, I read Stephen Covey's The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. The section on Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind includes a discussion of personal mission statements. After reading about personal mission statements, I revised the one I wrote about five years ago to be the one in the opening photo of this blog post.

I value learning and self-improvement which are both elements of growth. In my teaching role, I facilitate the growth of others. I believe one of my strengths is to bring together material from multiple sources, like from the course textbook and Covey (1989). I hope that growth leads to a more pleasant tomorrow, brought about in part by the ability for everyone to express their true selves.
