One can absolutely hold the two following beliefs and not be expressing contradictory logic.

1. I do not want undocumented immigrants in the United States.

2. I want more immigration to the United States (to support the economy).

Framing (word choice) is particularly important when discussing agricultural labor policy and immigration policy.

I think the producers of and speakers in the March 9, 2025, Season 10 Episode 1 of CBS Reports titled The Price of Milk: The Immigrants Behind American Dairy were purposeful in their language throughout the episode, and that they demonstrate the ability to hold both of the numbered views above at the same time. The primary term used in this episode is undocumented immigrant. They do use the term unauthorized worker as well. I'm curious on your thoughts, what do you associate with and how do you feel about unauthorized workers?
